Cualli Tonalli this day Xochitl with the guardian essence Xochiquetzal. The Moon is still in waning gibbous, to receive. After the rain comes the flowers. The beauty of creation reminds us through olfactory and visual processes that we are abundant. Life in its contractions births us to the next phase of our development. Our mastery is to relax during these contractions and allow the universe to work through us. The power today is Quetzaltototl, the quetzal. The bird of illumination. Quetzal is revered in meso tradition. One of the stories is that Quetzal would be the king of god. The people gifted Cortez the quetzal feathers and well, look how that turned out. However tragic, there is learning from this beautiful bird. No matter how mesmerizing or beautiful, no matter how good your mantle feathers are, it is even more so important for us to be humble. Quetzal is called on to illuminate the inner world. All the dark crevices to see our part. No human is infallible, and what is worse than not acknowledging our mistakes is to not repair the fences, tapestries, and bridges that we have broken. The lord of the night, Xuihtecultli the lord. of celestial time and heat or fire. Xuihtecuhtli was so honored that a fire was continually kept burning for "him." This reverence for the hearth and the sacred fire is our missing link. We must honor the fires. Light your fires and celebrate the embodiment of tonatiuah! Ometeolt - Sarah

Cualli Tonalli this day Quiahuitl or Rain with the guardian Tonatiuh - Sun God. The moon is in waning gibbous ~ Recieve. Every gardener knows that rain is the optimum way to receive. It settles the earth, awakens the seeds and plants, and distributes the energy evenly across the earth. After a rain, the garden is more vibrant. It has the color of the medicine from which was administered. This trecena Alt, or water is especially potent because the energies of rain and water align to the receiving energy of the gibbous moon. Tonitiuh is always behind and driving from the other side of the clouds. For those of us transcending cycles of grief and trauma, today especially we are wise to take a moment and noticably feel what it is to receive.
The power is Matlactli Uan Ce Alotl, the Macaw. A mesmerizing intellect and an appearance of beauty. Macaw spatters the sky with color and reminds us of the beauty of the rain today. The lord of the night, Tlaloc, the lord of the rain. As a western US culture we are continually communicating with this essence and today the energies align. It is a wonderful night to give gratitude prayer for the amount of rain we do receive. Ometeotl Sarah Tecpatl with the guardian Chalchiuhtotolin, The Jade turkey. Moon Phase - Waning Gibbous ~ Recieve. The blade in many traditions represents the cutting of the unwanted. In Aztec tradition the blade is represented with blood. A symbol of both war and human sacrifice. The ancients ritualized these acts because they realized the sacred in everything, even the dark. Today we loop this energy back to where we are working in our lives. What have we called forth for healing this cycle. Spirit hands us the knife and we cut away to receive. This cutting lightens the load and makes space for more in our lives. Chalchiuhtotolin the beautiful Jade turkey is supporting what is left over after we face vanity and selfishness. The power today comes from the Chicuauhtli. The barn owl. Barn owl lends to the evaluation needed to do this searching and fearless inventory. Where have we been selfish, self-seeking, and in fear? Chicuauhtli lends the eyes to see in the dark.
The Lord of the night, Tepeytollotl the heart of the mountain. Dressed as the ocelot, Tezcatlipoca takes form. Ocelot is the cosmic consciousness presiding over earthly planes. It is the essence of mountains, echos, and earthquakes. Ometeolt - Sarah Ollin with the guardian essence Xolotl, God of lightning, sunset, and the twins. Moon phase ~ Waning Gibbous, Receive.
