I wish I could tell you that you can sit with a road man, a curandero, a shaman, guru, or even psychic and all your problems with drugs, alcohol, tobacco, sex, parenting, sugar, food, caffeine, and co-dependency will magically disappear. It definitely wasn't that way for me or the millions of others who decided to take this road. Truth is these things are symptoms to greater problems within the balance of our nature. We must bring back to balance our physical, mental, and spiritual selves. I myself, and several of my colleagues, friends, and partners on the red road are adamant about an ongoing searching and fearless moral inventory found in the 12 steps of Alcoholics Anonymous. As well as, complete abstinence, and surrounding yourself with support and community. I need to reiterate, recovery programs must be the cornerstone of your spirituality.
