The trecena is Tochtli - rabbit and the day is Malinalli - grass that is twisted. with the guardian Petecalt guardian of medicines and pulque. The moon is waning crescent - reflection. During this reflection time of the cyclical evolution we acknowledge the surge of birthing. It is often those contractions that force the creation into existence. That is the nature of our planet. We have a cycle but we must acknowledge the contractions that bring creation. In our seasons it is the dark. In our moon it is the reflection and reset. Malinalli has the cycle of dark, stratify, growth, bloom, reproduce, harvest, and around again. The god of medicines guards this day bringing the harvest of malinalli into our awareness. 
The power today is itzcuauhtli the crow. It translates to obsidian eagle. we honor crow because of it's versitle nature to be a raptor as well eating small animals. The mystery of crow is as old as time itself. Crow is the witches familiar. A dimensional traveler with a massive intellect. It is the bird of the crowne and affords us the self evaluation and loyalty in our relations. 
The lord of the night is Chalchuihtlicue the goddess of the jade skirt or the lakes of our mother earth. Traditionally the stories tie her to water currents also. She is the essence of our life. WATER. She is asking us to look at this same cyclical pattern with water; evaporation, transpiration, condensation, precipitation. This cycle also has the surges of creation. There is no creation of water, just as with energy. It can not be created or destroyed. It can only transform and transfer. We ask for a balance of the water to fall in our parched lands and the distribution to work with these energies for balance. Ometeolt. 

Rain, Quiahuitl with the guardian sun god, Tonatiuh. Waxing gibbous moon is our trust in the adjustments made either by choice or on our behalf by creator. Any gardener knows that sometimes relocation of an animal or insect is necessary for growth so we trust Creator. Rain is the nourishment and cleansing of our madre tierra. It is the elemental energy of the water but it is only one part. transpiration and evaporation are the invisible forces at work. When sun and wind come to-get-her it creates a movement of either gentle or chaotic. Quiahuitl paints the earth green, the color of the heart. The power today is the Itzcuauhtli or obsidian eagle or CROW. This bird is a mystical power and inter-dimensional traveler.

Cualli Tlanessi this day Vulture with the guardian Itzpapalotl the obsidian butterfly. Moon phase waxing crescent, refinement. Pulling ourselves into the state of mind of vulture is easy today because we are transforming the creation of the moon cycle into a beauty that only connection with spirit can produce. We are aware of the immense power that spirit has over our circumstance. even the prefix of the word is indicative of the circle or circumference of the energy. We are on the ferris wheel of time and we honor the energies allowing them to move through us and reap the rewards. 
The power today is the Quetzalhuetzilli or the green hummingbird. Today we focus in the frequency of hummingbird. The vibration that it emits is just as magical as its ability to drink nectar and be an amazing pollinator. It represents the adaptability and the symbol of unique talents and abilities. We are all unique in our gifts and many have been lost in the dark because of our ignorance of these spiritual gifts. 
The lord of the night Tepeyolohtli, the heart of the mountain. who is embodied by Tezcatlipoca. The night is when the sun begins its journey to the center of the earth and the spots of the ocelots pelt become the stars in the sky. This night we find protection and power from the mountains and with the volcanic lava we find the earth's blood boiling. This is a great night to pray to the earth guardians.

Welcome this day Ocelot with the guardian Tlazoteotl the goddess of filth, also known as the dirt eater. The moon phase today is the Waxing Crescent, refinement. Today is a day to know thyself. Listen to the intuition in creating your projects for this moon phase. Whether it is a small or large endeavor, the key is conscious contact with that ocelot jaguar essence who has the cunning and stealth to narrow in on the desired outcome. Tlazoteotl is the curandera who heals that which she has a part in. These is the physician who can heal herself and others. She is a beloved to god and she comes here in our lives to break down the systems of toxicity from the inside. She who can embody her, can overcome the obstacles laid before her and stays the course with her ocelot companion. 
The power today is Cochotl, the parrot. This bird of intellect is a human's companion representing determination and communication. How are we relating to others? Are we self consumed or using tlazoteotl's medicine of staying the course of the life path?
The lord of the night - Chalchuhuihtlicue she is the the river that flows from which the prickly pear grows. The womb of the waters and the water goddess. Feel her within and without your essence.

Cualli Tonalli this day Acatl with the guardian Tezcatlipoca the ancestral smoky mirror. The moon phase waxing crescent - to refine. The heat emanates from the sun, and other stars to give us power. We See from the bamboo that grows abundantly the true essence of the stars, especially the big star that gives us life. Coronal flares are a burst of this energy able to take out our technology and throw everything into a different kind of balance. The first fire, the reason we exist. Reed, or bamboo is also a symbol of righteousness and nobility. from this concept we have the power of the judicial priest. Our god is the true embodiment of this energy. We must be devout to our god much like the story of Abraham who wrestled with his dark and light and ultimately won, but was tempted to destroy his most beloved child under the guise of direction from his God. In the end he passed his test holding the symbol of Acatl forever in his totem. Tezcatlipoca is the trickster energy behind this story. A second guessing and twist behind all major learning bringing attention to whether it was indeed God asking Abraham to kill his son, or the darkness and the ultimate battle within. MANY fail this test and under the guise or direction from God, demolish their own lives and the lives of others with self proclaimed status and delusion.  
The power today is Quetzaltototl, the quetzal who represents the power behind this evolution of spirit. Once the balance returns to the human and the inner struggle is achieved the illumination comes this is the power for today. Illumination after our major struggles are complete and we rise with the gifts of inner enlightenment. 
The lord of the night, Miclantecuhltli the god of shadows who rules the northernmost dimension of the underworld. This place is the darkness we face as a right of passage and though stories such as Abraham are a horrible initiation of Acatl, we see that those who live a life untrue to their inner being are just as burdensome and more elusive and subtle. Tonight, Miclantecuhtli asks us to listen to our souls calling and focus in on our truth and identify what is God's will and what is our will stemming from defects of character; ego, selfishness, & fear.

The grasses played an important role in Aztec and Mayan culture. It was used for everything from housing, matting, roofing, clothing, diapers, boats, baskets, and more.  The spiritual connotation of Malinalli is the premise of native culture in that everything we need is provided for from nature and the plants. This strong grass is rooted in the waters and also provides the perfect eco system for small mammals, birds, fish, and more. It grows in abundance and is a staple of life for many lifeforms. Petecatl is the god of medicines and pulque, the drink of the gods. We honor the many forms of sacred medicines that come in liquid form. The power today is the Macaw, Alotl. A majestic and enchanting bird who flies in flocks and brings a strong intellect and visual healing. 
The lord of the night, Centeotl the god of sustenance and the sacred medicine of food. Today and tonight we find that everything we need is provided for in nature.
